From Helsinki to Tallinn

I've been having some time off recently. It's been absolutely lovely - I'm in Finland at the moment, so I thought I'd post some photos of my Day trip to Tallinn, Estonia. It was amazing to sail through the frozen Baltic sea, that at the moment, is frozen from Russia to Sweden.
It wasn't that cold - only about -8˚c, last week it reached -28˚c which was painfully cold. Hopefully the temperature will keep rising!

Marie Meier - Goth'n'Roll artist.

"Burlesque goth'n'roll" Artist Marie Meier has painted an amazingly vivid portrait of me to be shown at  the pin-up exhibition in Montreal and Paris later this year.

Alongside myself; she has painted portraits of Daisy and Violet Hilton, Theda Bara and I think Mata Hari too, but don't hold me on that!

Al Overdrive - Photoshoot

Last week I did a promo photoshoot with London based photographer Al Overdrive - His website is HERE.
We shot at the Rio Cinema in Dalston London,  the Rio cinema is a purpose-built cinema dating from 1915 and is an English Heritage Grade II listed building, with 1930s art deco facade.

Last week I was at a friend's house. (They wish to remain anonymous!) We took some photos, and this is how they came out... Really pleased with them, the style is so different to the usual 'performance' shots I am used to, it's so much more intimate. Shooting some more soon - can't wait!

In September 2010, I performed at a stunning bar in Rome called Bar Del Fico. It mixed modern design with rustic kitchen/home antiques, and the food is to die for. If I could eat there everyday for the rest of my life, I would.

It's family run, and the daughters are responsible for the design. When I was in Rome, I spent some time with one of them, Valentina/She Frame. An amazing video artist, responsible for creating the exquisite vaudeville, circus stage you can see behind me in this photo. 

I absolutely adore this photo, the composition is so striking, as well as the tones... It really does remind me of a photo from one of the old american circus side shows!

Paname Burlesque Revue Paris.

I was in Paris this past weekend - a very busy weekend indeed! Four shows in three days, plus a photo shoot for a magazine, and an interview for French TV.
I performed a 1920s inspired burlesque routine, with giant feather fans, and an art deco fakir fire show. I tried out a new stunt - I can place the fire torch in contact with the sole of my foot for over 30 seconds!! (That's a long time when it's live!)
I performed at Balajo with Lady Flo and Neo Retro. It was a great event, with a fantastic audience. Here are some photos:
